A Call for Proposals for Festival 2025

Dear pianists and piano lovers,

As president of the American Matthay Association for Piano, I enthusiastically invite you to take part in the Call for Proposals for our upcoming 2025 Festival. This year’s festival will be held on the campus of Nazareth University in Rochester, NY from May 28-31, 2025.

Our festival theme this year is “100 Years of Matthay in America”, as 2025 marks the centennial of our organization. To celebrate this special occasion, we are thrilled to present writer and music critic Jessica Duchen as our keynote speaker. Duchen will be joining us just months after the release of her new biography on Dame Myra Hess. Gregor Benko, founder of the International Piano Archives, will also appear on our program to share his deep knowledge of 20th-century American pianism. Excellent performances are always featured at our festivals, and this year we are excited to host piano recitals by Alan Chow (Eastman School of Music), Mark Anderson (University of British Columbia), and Ji-Hyang Gwak (University of Dayton).

You will find a link to our official Call for Proposals below, as well as a link to the online submission form. We welcome submissions from students, instructors, and piano professionals alike, and you need not be a member of the American Matthay Association to take part. Do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions that you may have.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Nicholas Susi
